BASIC HOT or ICED COFFEE
This is the foundation for almost any instant coffee drink. The key is to first dissolve the coffee granules in a small amount of hot water to prevent a gritty texture.
Ingredients:
- 1-2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- 1 cup hot or cold water (or milk)
- Sweetener and milk/creamer to taste
Instructions:
- In your mug, combine the instant coffee granules and the hot water. Stir until the coffee is completely dissolved.
- For a hot coffee, add hot water or steamed milk and stir.
- For an iced coffee, fill a glass with ice, then pour the coffee mixture over the ice. Add cold water or milk and stir.
- Add your preferred sweetener (sugar, honey, maple syrup) and milk or creamer, if desired.
DALGONA COFFEE (Whipped Coffee)
This viral drink is known for its beautiful, frothy top layer and is incredibly easy to make.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons instant coffee
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- 1 cup milk (hot or cold)
- Ice cubes (for iced version)
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine the instant coffee, sugar, and hot water.
- Using a hand mixer, whisk, or even a sealed jar, whip the mixture until it becomes thick, creamy, and forms stiff peaks. This should take about 3-5 minutes with a mixer or longer by hand.
- Fill a glass with milk and ice cubes (if making an iced version).
- Spoon the whipped coffee mixture on top of the milk. Stir before drinking to combine the layers.
INSTANT COFFEE MOCHA
This is a great option for chocolate lovers and can be enjoyed hot or cold.
Ingredients:
- 1-2 teaspoons instant coffee
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder or chocolate syrup
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- 1 cup milk (hot or cold)
- Sugar to taste
Instructions:
- In a mug, dissolve the instant coffee and cocoa powder/chocolate syrup in the hot water. Stir until smooth.
- For a hot mocha, heat the milk until steaming, then pour it into the mug and stir.
- For an iced mocha, fill a glass with ice, add cold milk, and pour in the coffee-chocolate mixture.

INSTANT COFFEE FRAPPE
For a delicious frozen treat, an instant coffee frappe is a perfect choice.
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons instant coffee
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup ice cubes
- Whipped cream or other toppings (optional)
Instructions:
- In a blender, combine the instant coffee, sugar, water, milk, and ice cubes.
- Blend until the mixture is smooth and slushy.
- Pour into a glass and top with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, or other toppings as desired.
